Park High Invitational

The Manhattan cross country teams' sweep of the boys and girls team titles wasn't even the most impressive display in sweeping the team titles at the Park High Invitational meet in Livingston on Friday.

Belgrade's Jonathan Eastwood outlegged the boys' field by nearly 76 seconds, finishing in 15:55.5, to easily fend off Manhattan's Tony Krogstad for the individual title.

Krogstad, who finished in 16:38.9, was the top finisher on the day for the Tigers. Manhattan's boys had a combined team score of 72 - 13 spots better than Belgrade.

The Butte Central boys rode Conor McGee's fourth-place finish (17:41.3) to eighth place in the team standings with 225 points. The Whitehall boys were just behind in ninth place, with 254 points.

On the girls' side, Manhattan tied Fergus for the team title with 88 points, led by Anna Losasso's fourht-place finish in 21:25.9.

Tri Cities' Christian Eike (21:12.6) just held off Manhattan Christian's Nikki Aiken (21:12.9) at the finish line to take her individual title.

The top local girls finishers were Twin Bridges' Jessica George (21:40.9) and Savannah Stewart (21:41.6), who finished seventh and eighth overall, respectively. The duo helped the Falcons to a sixth-place team finish.

Abby McGee led Butte Central in 33rd place (23:51.6), though the Maroons did not have enough runners for a team score.
